Rashoodz Review

It’s Summer! Finally, I might add, especially after all the blisteringly hot days we have had throughout Spring. But now with the hottest months upon us, how do we keep our small ones cool and still protected from the sun? I have been on the hunt for the perfect swimsuit that not only keeps Miss3 protected from the sun, but also one that she is comfortable in (and a reasonable price couldn’t hurt either)…And I think I may have found one!

Rashoodz is an Australian owned and run business that has designed a swim suit/top with a hat that can be attached. With an understanding of what it is like at the beach with small children, the design features snap buttons to simply clip a legionnarie’s hat to the back of the shirt or suit. If you have spent any time attempting to keep a hat on a small child and avoid losing it forever, you will appreciate how simply genius this design is.

It has been an interesting month since receiving the delightfully pink swimsuit and hat from Rashoodz (by the way, the fabric designs are too cute, and are definitely worth a look!). Not only did Miss3 have her birthday, and with that came many visitors, she was also unwell, so it meant that there was little opportunity to get to the beach to try out the swimmers. But I can assure you, this did not deter the little Miss, who upon opening the parcel, proceeded to put it on (over her undies) and parade around the house, hat and all. She absolutely loves it!

We still haven’t had many opportunities to get to the beach, but I can assure you, the suit has been well tested, with every chance to wear it in the back yard being taken advantage of. I have to admit, I hadn’t thought too much about the suit’s advantages at home, but it has been wonderful to be able to throw this suit onto Miss3 when she wants to run through the sprinkler, rather than having to contend with wet clothes and masses of sunscreen. Of course we use the sunscreen still, but the zipper front and hat make this suit so simple to put on and take off, as well as being sun safe.

While I’m on the subject, I just want to take a moment to describe a ‘light bulb moment’ that I had when putting the swimsuit on Miss3 for the first time: I was a little unsure whether it was going to work on her, because the suits come with the added bonus of snap buttons on the bottom seam for easy nappy changes. Of course, now she’s a ‘big girl’, as she so often reminds us, we haven’t the need for nappies. I thought that these buttons may not work for her. In fact, they are a great idea! Have you ever tried to peel off a wet swimsuit when desperate for the toilet? It’s even more challenging with a wriggling, whinging 3 year old. The nappy buttons mean you just pull them apart and lift the suit up! It’s so easy! And there you have my tip for the day…

Designed with the Australian sun in mind, the fabric has a UPF 50 plus safety rating, and is also chlorine resistant. Not only are these quality products, they are also very reasonably priced with sale items starting at just $39.99.

So if you are on the lookout for a swimsuit for the Summer holidays, or maybe as a present for Christmas, check out Rashoodz. I am delighted to be able to spread the word about this fantastic business, and I can assure you, I will be looking no further when Miss3 needs the next size up!
